The media controls our minds
After reading Jeremy Lent’s “Mind Control: It’s Happening to You Right Now”.This article really terrifies me, we are actually controlled by the network media without our awareness. At first, I thought it was impossible to control people’s mind in such an easy way, but after I think thought my life experience carefully, I have to admit that actually prove the author’s statement.
The businessmen use media for higher profits
I believe most people will have the same experience with me. Just last week I visited a website selling clothes and shoes. I stay at that site for a while but finally, I decided not to buy anything. This week, however, I’ve seen the ads for clothes on the Internet more than 10 times. These ads are one of the ways in which businessman try to control your mind.
The government uses media in politics
Of course, using media to control people’s mind is not the patent of the merchants, and the governments of all countries use the media to be their political weapons. In some of the countries, only the news, that the government wants you to know, can be played on the TV.
Media can even influence the election
The people’s congress of China is a very important meeting because it will decide the next leader. However, before the nineteenth session of the people’s congress, President Xi appear on every news website’s hot topic talking about his contributions. Think about that if the media can influence the elections by their invisible mind control, there will be no fair election.
Should we stay away from the media?
The media is the place where citizens get and exchange information. If we do not accept the media in order to avoid being controlled by the businessmen or the government, we cannot know the current events. So what’s the difference between us and the frog in the well? So covering your eyes and ears is not going to work. We should look at the media more rationally.
We all want to be a free man, but our minds are controlled and manipulated by a pair of invisible hands. We should develop our own view of the world and value. Independent thinking can be the key to reduce the media’s control over us.
